As part of Sumitomo Electric Sintered Alloys' global strategy to grow in the North American market, Engineered Sintered
Components, Troutman, North Carolina, is pleased to announce a $9 million
investment to their current manufacturing operations. This investment will
include a 20,000 sq ft addition to their 2nd on-site facility and new equipment to
support new business secured in the manufacturing of powder metal components for
the automotive industry. ESC has a current employment of 375 and plans a
staffing increase of 25 within the first 6 months of the expansion project.
Ground breaking is planned for late April or early May and completion of the
project is scheduled for late October / early November.
ESC will receive $142,000 in tax grant incentives over five years as approved by the Iredell County Commissioners in a public
hearing this past week.
We look forward to this expansion in supporting our overall goal to manufacture
highly engineered components while placing a high value on our employees, their
